Bolsa de Galerías Primero PLASTIC BAG OF GALERIAS PRIMERO
The design of these plastic bags calls our attention. We suspect that its graphic design goes back to the 70s.
This chain of supermarkets self-named "Great Aragonese Stores" deserves a visit since its decoration and aesthetic doesn't defer much from the design of its plastic bags and it could be fascinating for any fan of the videos of Pulp.
The overwhelming decoration of its subsidiary in Cinco de Marzo Street in Zaragoza should be emphasized (old Ice-Skating hall "The Ibón"). If you cannot go personally, you can visit its web site here whenever you want.
Joyería Orleans, Zaragoza ORLEANS JEWELERY

Its pop façade gives us the impression of being in front of a boîte (nightclub) but it is not so, it is a jewellery. Its façade with geometrical and bubbling leitmotifs is exquisite.

It is placed in front of 'El Corte Inglés' of San Miguel Street (old 'Galerías Preciados' in the 70s and 80s. Unfortunately we do not have pictures of it).
Viajes Venus, Zaragoza VENUS TRAVELS
San Vicente de Paúl Street

We cannot guess what kind of travels organizes this agency since its sign with those mars "V" is somehow disturbing.

Maybe what they organized were travels... to Venus, Mars or the beyond with Barbarella attending the traveller.

Teleavia, Zaragoza TELEAVIA
Escoriaza y Fabro Street

In this case, the plane as Hi-Tech symbol is not a Concorde but a Caravelle which was the first European commercial plane that flew with Iberia from 1962 to 1973. (Noted by J.A. Cifuentes www.cifuentes.biz).

The design cannot be more avant-garde: a Caravelle coming out from a TV monitor (we suppose a black and white one).

Logotipo Zona Comercial Delicias, Zaragoza LOGO OF THE COMMERCIAL ASOCIATION "DELICIAS STREET"

The old age commercial zone by antonomasia is Delicias Street, one of the most visited in Zaragoza. Most of the shops in this Street were established in the 60s and 70s. Unfortunately in the 80s they must have had a great economical growth since they renewed all their façade s but not their logotype that we stand out in this section.

florida FLORIDA STORES

A classic in Delicias Street.

We love Florida Stores because they have not changed the tune of their radio adverts during the last 28 years!!
They use the hit "El Sonido de Philadelphia" by M.F.S.B since 1974.

This merit leads them to the candidature of the Prize Zaragoza de Luxe.

Artemiss, Zaragoza ARTEMISS

Nice wordplay although we do not know exactly what it means: to become a MISS by magic ART? The ART to be a MISS? Artemisia disciples? Anyway… who knows?

In an area where buildings are falling into peaces this sign remains intact since the day it was placed there maybe because of the electrical cables that surround it.

Reyfi REYFI
Conde Aranda Street

Huge sign of gigantic proportions for the shop owned by Mr. REY Fillat

Surely the intention to make so great sign was not other than to be seen from the moon or maybe directly from Paris catwalks.
In the old named Via General Franco and now called Conde Aranda Street, its shop windows offer us a world of understanding luxury and popular fashion in an incomparable frame of bronzed mirrors, hotel lamps and plastic gold.

JENA, Zaragoza JENA
Madrid Avenue

Look out! The mobile phones can affect our brains!

This is what it seems to say the sign of this auditory centre but it is not so. It makes reference to the ultrasonic waves that emit their hearing aids and of which they are well stocked.

Farmacia Delicias CHEMIST'S SHOP
Sangenis Street

There is a curious similarity between the sign of this Chemist's shop and the cover of Isaac Hayes's single "SHAFT" (1971).

Pharmacies are a profitable cushy business in which nothing is spared when they are first built. Later, they do not need to be renewed in order to be profitable so they maintain forever the opening day style of the 20s, 30s or as in this case the 70s.
Chemistry Deluxe.

Farmacia Salamero CHEMIST'S SHOP
Teniente Coronel Valenzuela Street

Because of its geographical proximity and the time of its construction, the logotype of this Chemist's shop reveals a strong influence of the old 'Galerias Preciados' logotype.

Farmacia Delicias CHEMIST'S SHOP

In this case we are in front of an absolutely advanced design for its time. Surely, it inspired the creator of one of the most important pieces of contemporary computer science, Sir Clive Sinclair creator of the ZX Spectrum that appeared many years after this Chemist's shop.
Once again chemistry and technology hand-in-hand.
